Notification

We've just received a notification that the actual video clip has been released however, it used one of our original ideas and in fact embraced. Which was the underwater idea. As a result we unfortunately can no longer produce this scene.

Video analysis

Lil Pump - d rose video analysis

This videoclip is a song which could be considered somewhat aggressive which is also evident in terms of editing. However, it is a  simple video clip, he says the lyrics quite repetitive, with the same sort of background which is dark and gloomy and uses a bit of animations. From what I can see there is a constant use of slow pans and zooms throughout the video, making you either focus on one thing or a couple. Furthermore, no use if not barely of a tripod and in fact, it embraces the liberty of free hand by swinging and manoeuvring  the camera. This might be a technique we should try when producing the video clip, since it matched the song. On the other hand, this might not be ideal as the song we have chosen has a different tempo as well as we would not manoeuvre the camera with such consistency in every shot. Also Fast cutting rate making it snappy and exciting, really capturing my attention, a lot of slow-motion , rewinding and forwarding giving the viewers entertainment and refraining me from clicking onto another video as I just want to continue watching. Which is why I'd like to give a similar effect so that the viewer is entertained making the videos ultimate goal accomplished And in terms of angles, both low and high angle, close up and extremely close up, midshot and longshot, and very elaborate ones too which would look awkward in a movie but looks really nice in that music video also it contained a few animations which looked really clean and aesthetically pleasing. I highly doubt that we'll produce our music video with similar effects as it is beyond our skill level as well as it would not match our relatively slower tempo. The mise en scene in this video was not very elaborate, but the fact that it was simple made it very good and the fact that it was more focused on him rather than around him. He was wearing a pink bape hoodie matching his hair, and most of the scenes were in dark places. We will not be using any dark places because that's not the atmosphere we want to set.

Future - mask off video analysis

This videoclip was more like a short movie, which is why our videoclip won't look similar to this. It shows a chaotic side with multiple scenes on others rather than Future himself. It seemed to be an uprising where there's no law anymore, which could be why there was a lot of havoc. Always this allowed them to emphasise "mask off" as most of the criminals were wearing masks. It was a really good production in which I was very interested however, we could not merely be able to make something similar with our production budget. They had a fast cutting rate in multiple scenes to really capture my attention almost like as if I wanted to rewatch the video even before I finished watching it. Which is something we'd like to consider because of there is a slow cutting rate it won't be entertaining nor elaborate. It had a cinematic, which expanded on the idea that it felt like I was watching a scene from an action movie. Which we will not do as it is not our plan to create a similar style videoclip. Also it used a lot of slow motion, pans and zooms as usual definitely making my eyes glued to the screen by attempting to look for little details. We will not do this as we want the main focus on the actors, but we might consider a pan. They also had match on action which made it unique to a most of videoclips, because it was basically watching a movie, as mentioned before we won't do this. It also featured a lot of close ups, mid shots, long shots, two shots and establishing shots, which without a doubt we will use but as a mandatory not because it was used here. The mise en scene really could be said the same about the previous videoclip, just this one is technically more elaborate. As there were more different scenery's but the costumes consisted of dark and dull colours and mask or something to black the face.

french montana ft swae lee - unforgettable

This video is set in Uganda in which it showed a poorer side however, a much happier one too. In this video it really captured emotion, from the music and footage that transferred to us as an audience. We will not able to as we can't go to another country or the right song to do so. Due to the song it had a similar approach and constantly used slow motion and pans. Which worked well and allowed to capture the moment as said before this will not be our main focus. Furthermore, a lot of close ups and long shots capturing everyone and slow cutting rate compared to other video clips. Which we will consider just not planning everyone and most likely be just the two actors. It looked really good overall. It used low angle making me want to be there, showing that level of happiness. However, in the end it showed a short cinematic of the rebels to show the contrast. Mise en scene will be hard to take inspiration of as this videoclip has a different objective. Firstly they were in another country, infact a different continent and we won't be able to go to another country. Secondly, in terms of clothing they used much poorer clothing in comparison to other videoclip. We won't do this as said before they had a different intention which is why we can't do this.

Analysis

We have learnt about cameras and it's functionality and a reminder on how to use them again Furthermore we have gathered into a group of 3 and have created a 1 minute videoclip which consists of long shot, mid shot and close up to the chosen song One dance by Drake. In which we have had to change saturation, and the aperture due to the fact we were filming it outside and the environment, distance and weather kept changing

lip Sync Practice Reflection

What have you enjoyed?

I have enjoyed many things. Firstly, it was fun to work as a group and interact with more members in the class, also doing activities as recording, editing and lip syncing became very entertaining. Furthermore, messing around and experimenting with angles as well as experimenting with Premiere Pro.

What have you learnt?

Even though it was just a practice, it gave me an insight of a quarter of the amount of work, planning and time that goes in into a professional video clip. Also the basics of the camera as well as the basics of Premier pro. Furthermore what I will not do next time I do a video clip such as not have a very detailed plan which is very crucial for a successful clip.

What were the major challenges?

One of the challenges was to keep the camera still and get the right angles on the right locations. Also because we weren't using a tripod it was hard to keep the camera still. There wasn't much variation in terms of the camera angles, as it was quite limited and very spontaneous not allowing us to explore and make our work more elaborate.  Also  editing the video and syncing us to the song was very difficult, however we learnt a few tricks to overcome that. Also knowing what will make it better and our limits in terms of effects. The mise-en-scene was also a major challenge as it was based in college with little time and no props.

What do you think the major challenges will be for your main project?

Making the video clip relevant to the song. Also matching the lip sync with the song. In addition, adding in the correct and right amount of effects. Also finding the actors for it who are going to be fully committed and  available for the music video.

You alright
I'm alright
I'm alright
And my money's right
I don't really care if you cry
On the real you should've never lied
Should've saw the way she looked me in my eyes
She said baby I am not afraid to, die
Push me to the edge
All my friends are dead
Push me to the edge
All my friends are dead
Push me to the edge
All my friends are dead
Push me to the edge
